Product Detail Description
Adolf Dehn was born in Minnesota. After high school, he began his art education at the Minneapolis School of Art, and then earned a scholarship to the Art Students League in New York. Upon graduating, he was drafted to serve World War One, but was imprisoned for two years for being a conscientious objector. When the war ended, he relocated to Europe and spent time with other artists and intellectuals in Paris and Vienna. In 1929, he came back to the United States and shortly after, his work began to appear in magazines such as New Yorker and Vogue. Dehnís favorite medium was lithography, and he alternated between creating beautiful landscapes and spoofing high society.
